53: The Mystery of DB Cooper
Jun 10, 2024

In this episode, we delve into a tale that's been on our list since the very beginning. As we approach our one-year anniversary, we bring you a mystery that has frustrated the FBA and fascinated the public for decades. Today, we're talking about the infamous and mysterious hijacking of Northwest Orient Airlines Flight 305 by none other than D.B. Cooper.

On the afternoon before Thanksgiving, November 24, 1971, a man known as Dan Cooper boarded a flight from Portland to Seattle. Little did anyone know, this nondescript passenger, who enjoyed a bourbon and soda while smoking a cigarette, would become the central figure in the only unsolved hijacking in U.S. history.

After successfully demanding $200,000 and 4 parachutes, DB Cooper instructed the pilot to fly towards Mexico City. However, somewhere near the Lewis River in Washington state, Cooper opened the plane's back stairs and parachuted to freedom. Despite extensive searches and investigations, Cooper was never found, and to this day his true identity, and fate, remain a mystery.

Join us as we explore the enigma of D.B. Cooper. We'll examine the hijacking in detail, discuss the major suspects, and ponder the question that has baffled authorities and captivated the public for decades: Who was D.B. Cooper, and what happened to him?

Stay spooky, stay safe, and sweet dreams!

And, as always, a HUGE thanks to Sean.
